Due to the arrest of Mihály Valkó, involved in the Matolcsy case, a supervisory trustee has been appointed to the head of the fund management linked to István Száraz.
The Hungarian National Bank appointed a supervisory trustee for Quartz Investment Fund Management after its CEO, Mihály Valkó, was arrested alongside György Matolcsy. The trustee will oversee the company's operations due to Valkó's inability to fulfill his legal duties. Matolcsy and two associates were detained for economic fraud, with international arrest warrants issued for others involved. The case involves suspicious reorganizations at the central bank's foundation shortly before Matolcsy's departure, raising concerns about asset management and ownership transfers. The new leadership at the bank has since initiated investigations into these transactions.
