"My duty is to solve the problem". Spanish Minister of Transport refuses to resign

Spanish Transport Minister Óscar Puente has refused to resign following a train collision in Urda, emphasizing his responsibility to address the issue. He acknowledged the ongoing investigation and stated that any individual failures would be addressed appropriately. Puente noted that failures in the LZB system, which communicates between control centers and trains, are not uncommon and have occurred 170 times this year, primarily due to external factors. Meanwhile, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez highlighted a loss of trust in the high-speed rail system and the need for solutions to prevent future tragedies. A Portuguese citizen was confirmed among the fatalities, with the death toll at 69 and many still missing.
