A man was charged with assaulting his elderly mother and preventing her from receiving medical help. The incident occurred on October 25, when he struck her during an argument, causing bleeding injuries. Despite her attempts to signal for help through a window, he blocked her from leaving for the arriving ambulance. The mother managed to lock herself in the bathroom until he left the door. She sustained injuries that would heal within eight days. The court sentenced the man to suspended imprisonment for violating the personal freedom of a defenseless person and for causing minor bodily harm to her.
