Ford's new pick-up has a bit of Tesla in it
Ford plans to launch the Fathom, a mid-size pickup truck, in 2027, aiming for affordability and quick production. The company will utilize gigacasting technology, initially recognized by Tesla, to reduce manufacturing costs. This method, developed by Italian firm Idra, combines forging and molding to create large, complex parts efficiently. Ford has a long-standing tradition in the pickup market, having led sales in the U.S. for over four decades.
