"We Came Back from Hell" – The Oleski Civilians Evacuated During the Melania Trump Ceasefire Arrived in Ukraine

Civilians evacuated from Olesk, Ukraine, during a ceasefire facilitated by the US have arrived safely in Chernihiv. Many described their experiences as horrific, with some needing medical assistance upon arrival. Approximately 750 people were transported via 25 buses, facing dire conditions in Olesk, including food shortages and danger from landmines. The city remains under Russian occupation, with around 6,000 residents still trapped, including 200 children. Olesk has suffered severe shortages of food and medicine, and its infrastructure is devastated, leaving residents caught between ongoing conflict.
