Politics has Limits

The right to housing and private property is crucial for privacy, emphasizing that property entails responsibility. In democracy, conflict is legitimate but should not lead to hostility or class warfare. Historical determinism in class struggle undermines open society and freedom. Laicité is vital, limiting the state's role and avoiding theological functions. Promises of a conflict-free society can lead to silencing dissent and sacrificing individual freedoms. Recognizing the complexity of freedom, equality, and justice requires humility, as ideologies often overlook the inherent difficulties in achieving these values.
