"Bursting at the seams". AIMA workers demand more staff and transparency in accounts

Workers from the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA) are demanding more staff and budget transparency as the agency struggles to cope with increasing immigrant numbers. The Migration Technicians Union (STM) highlighted that AIMA's workforce has grown by 18% since its inception, while the foreign resident population surged by 60%. They reported that AIMA is losing nearly as many employees as it hires, leading to inadequate service conditions. The STM emphasized the need for stable personnel and proper facilities to ensure effective public service for immigrants, who face delays in obtaining essential rights. They also called for an independent audit if budget transparency is not achieved.
