Ryanair would freeze employee salaries and raise ticket prices

Ryanair is considering freezing employee salaries and increasing travel costs due to rising fuel prices, which have led to an additional €2 billion in expenses. CEO Michael O'Leary indicated that ticket prices may need to rise by double digits to offset these costs, and some salary increases might be eliminated. The airline may also slow down hiring and increase the use of artificial intelligence in operations. O'Leary previously mentioned a need for a 20% fare increase to cover fuel costs, and while this may not happen this year, a larger increase is likely next year. The potential salary freeze could occur as existing labor agreements expire soon.
