Construction of the business park Nieuwe Bunders in Opgrimbie has started

The construction of the Nieuwe Bunders business park in Opgrimbie has begun, covering 26 hectares across two zones. New roads and bike paths aim to divert heavy traffic from the village center. The project, approved by Environment Minister Jo Brouns, faced delays due to legal challenges and negative feedback from residents. Mayor Raf Terwingen acknowledges community concerns but believes the project will enhance local livability and create jobs. POM-Limburg aims to attract larger companies, excluding those dealing with hazardous materials. Preparatory works include road construction, drainage, green areas, and removal of old structures.
