Lisbon camp says PSP will intervene but protesters intend to resist
The Acampada de Lisboa movement announced that the police plan to intervene during their protest for housing rights. Despite this, they intend to resist with tents set up in Rossio. Spokesperson Adriana Lima emphasized that decisions regarding police intervention are made collectively, prioritizing everyone's safety. The movement has over 150 tents and hundreds of participants planning to stay overnight. Their demands include reversing rental laws, halting demolitions and evictions without housing alternatives, and preventing real estate funds from acquiring housing. They also call for increased public housing and affordable rent ceilings, along with initiatives to recover vacant properties for housing purposes.
