Porto camp demands rent support in all housing

The Acampada do Porto movement has made several demands to the Porto City Council regarding housing policies. They are calling for all municipal housing to be supported rent, the use of urban mechanisms to utilize vacant buildings, and the prohibition of local accommodation licenses. The group argues that the current criteria for social housing allocation are inadequate and illegal, limiting access for those in need. They also emphasize the need to address the issue of over 20,000 vacant homes in Porto. The City Council has invited the movement for a meeting, which they initially declined but later expressed willingness to discuss their demands.
