Camps. PSP says that the court's decision "aligns with" the police action
The Public Security Police (PSP) stated it will comply with a court ruling regarding tents in Rossio Square, asserting that the decision aligns with their recent actions. PSP spokesperson Sérgio Soares noted that the police had previously offered to allow a reasonable number of tents after 12:30 AM, but this proposal was not accepted by the protesters. He emphasized the importance of balancing the right to protest with other fundamental rights, particularly the free movement of people. Soares expressed disappointment over the protesters' inability to engage in dialogue with the police, reiterating their preference for negotiation to reach a mutually acceptable solution.
