Eight dead in Jordanian retaliation attacks in Syria
The Jordanian military conducted retaliatory strikes in southern Syria, resulting in eight deaths, including three children, according to local health authorities. The strikes targeted alleged terrorist hideouts, reportedly killing numerous members of groups accused of a deadly attack on a Greek Orthodox church. The Syrian government stated that Jordan did not coordinate the airstrikes in advance. The church attack on Friday resulted in nine fatalities and 25 injuries during a funeral service in Hammoud. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
