"Adopt a fire hydrant": Emergency services zone Flemish Brabant East asks to keep hydrants easily accessible

The fire department in eastern Vlaams-Brabant urges residents to maintain accessibility to fire hydrants, which are essential during emergencies. Many hydrants are often obstructed by vegetation or parked cars. Fire trucks have limited water supply and rely on hydrants for continued firefighting. Residents can identify hydrants by small signs and are encouraged to keep them clear of obstructions. No formal registration is needed to 'adopt' a hydrant; simply being vigilant about their condition is sufficient.
