Agent AI: The world's most expensive painting may not be by Leonardo da Vinci
A Brazilian AI system suggests that the painting "Salvator Mundi" may not be by Leonardo da Vinci but by his pupil Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio, with an 81% probability. Experts express skepticism about the AI's analysis, noting it lacks definitive proof and should be seen as a starting point for further research. If the AI's claims are accurate, the painting's market value could be significantly lower than the $450 million paid by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2017. The painting has not been publicly displayed since its purchase but is set to be exhibited in Riyadh next year.
