PSP and GNR agents protest in Ponta Delgada

Hundreds of PSP agents and GNR soldiers protested in Ponta Delgada, Azores, demanding better working conditions and career progression. The ASPP/PSP president highlighted issues like staff shortages and aging personnel, emphasizing the need for compliance with a 2024 agreement with the government regarding risk allowances and salary structures. The GNR's remuneration status has not been updated since 2009, affecting career advancement for many officers. Previous protests occurred in Viseu, where around 300 agents also called for salary reviews and professional status improvements, demonstrating ongoing dissatisfaction with government negotiations.
