AIMA can spend up to 31.35 million on official documents
The Council of Ministers has authorized the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA) to spend up to €31.35 million for the production of residence permits and other official documents by the National Mint. This funding ensures the issuance of essential documents until mid-2027, supporting the legal status of holders and their recognized rights. AIMA reported revenues of €101 million from fees charged to immigrants for regularizations and residence permits, with operational costs of €39 million. The budget for this year was set at €97.4 million, with an expected increase to €135 million by 2027, partly funded by EU resources. Approximately 1.6 million foreigners reside in Portugal, with the regularization process including the issuance of residence titles and other official documents.
