Airbnb ends unreasonable cleaning demands from landlords

Airbnb has introduced new rules to clarify guest responsibilities, prohibiting unreasonable cleaning tasks typically expected from professional cleaners. Hosts can now select from seven standard house rules, with additional reasonable requests allowed. The updated guidelines aim to reduce confusion and complaints from guests regarding checkout demands. Guests will see these rules more prominently during booking reminders, and separate contracts are no longer permitted unless legally required. Airbnb will intervene if hosts violate these policies, marking any unreasonable requests for review. The changes take effect for bookings starting November 20.
