Actors, politicians, journalists: This is what the collections looked like at the cemeteries
Various cities in Poland have recently held fundraising events to restore historic graves. The 52nd collection at Warsaw's Powązki Cemetery raised funds for the preservation of its notable tombstones, featuring participation from artists and public figures. Michał Krasucki emphasized the cemetery's significance as a premier gallery of monumental sculpture. In Kraków, the 46th collection at Rakowicki Cemetery aimed to support conservation efforts, with notable locals like Anna Dymna participating. Other cities, including Szczecin and Rzeszów, also organized collections for grave restoration and community support. The Łódź cemetery has raised over 2 million PLN in 32 years for similar efforts, highlighting the cultural importance of these initiatives.
