Alaska: Two Sullivans compete with the Democratic Party candidate. One was found by her campaign team.

The New York Times revealed that associates of former Congresswoman Mary Peltola were recruiting candidates to siphon votes from Republican Senator Dan Sullivan in Alaska. A retired teacher named Dan J. Sullivan announced his candidacy after being targeted by Peltola's team. Both Peltola's campaign and the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee denied involvement in these efforts. Elisa Rios, Peltola's former campaign chief, acknowledged that Peltola was aware of the operation. In response, Donald Trump accused Peltola of election fraud and called for legal consequences. The Justice Department has sought to block the certification of the Senate election if Dan Sullivan loses, arguing that the independent candidate's presence misleads voters. Alaska, traditionally a Republican state, shows Peltola has a chance in the upcoming midterms on November 3.
