Alert for upcoming protests no higher than before says interior minister
Italy's Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced heightened alertness among security forces due to recent violent protests in major cities. Following riots in Milan and violent demonstrations in Turin, Rome, and Bologna, a general strike organized by the USB trade union is planned for Friday, impacting various sectors. Despite the unrest, Piantedosi reassured that the current level of alarm remains consistent with previous situations, expressing confidence in local authorities' ability to manage potential disturbances.
