Alice Weidel, 'Schengen doesn't work, expel the migrants'

Alice Weidel, leader of Alternative für Deutschland, emphasized the importance of national sovereignty in border protection during a press conference in Strasbourg. She argued that if the EU fails to secure external borders, individual states must take action. Weidel suggested that if the Schengen Agreement is ineffective, countries should exit it and manage their borders independently. She criticized the EU for not fulfilling its fundamental responsibilities and expressed concern over the loss of European identity due to foreign influences. Weidel insisted that those who disrupt societal order should not be welcomed and should be detained and expelled.
