State companies take over the Gondosóra program from 4iG

Hungary's Minister of Science and Technology, Zoltán Tanács, announced that from 2027, the Gondosóra program will operate at half the cost with state support. The program's overhaul will be led by László Bicskei, with details provided by Péter Vitkovics from the Government Service Center. Approximately 400,000 of the one million issued devices are inactive, and political messages will cease. Users are encouraged to return unused devices. The state will take over from the previous provider, 4iG, with several tech companies involved. Investigations into past operations have been initiated by authorities, revealing critical risks and potential overpricing. Tanács noted that previous administrations had access to over a million user data.
