Almeida admits the "undeniable" error in the requalification of the city of Real Madrid, but assures that it "does not frustrate the operation"
Madrid's mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, acknowledged a significant calculation error in the economic report supporting the Real Madrid city project, inflating projected municipal revenues from €1.46 million to €98.6 million. Despite this, he claims the error does not hinder the operation, as the city would collect the correct taxes regardless. The mistake lies in miscalculating the Economic Activities Tax, which should have been 0.1% instead of 10%. This adjustment drastically reduces expected annual revenues to €34.1 million, significantly impacting the project's financial outlook. Almeida did not clarify how the error would be corrected or if it would delay the project.
