Students from Soares dos Reis in Porto protested against lack of conditions

Students from Soares dos Reis Artistic School in Porto protested on October 27 against perceived underfunding in education, demanding free materials, the abolition of national exams, and improved facilities. The protest began at 8 AM, gathering hundreds of students who expressed their grievances through chants and signs. Issues highlighted included the high costs of necessary materials and inadequate equipment. Some students camped outside the school, linking their educational struggles to broader housing issues. School management expressed support for the students' demands, acknowledging the need for better working conditions and emphasizing the importance of dialogue. The school is one of only two specialized artistic schools in Portugal.
