Students in the Azores still lack access to digital textbooks

In the Azores, several dozen students still lack digital school manuals, as confirmed by the regional education director. The introduction of digital manuals began in the 2022/2023 school year, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan. However, the number of licenses purchased was insufficient for the student population, leading to access issues. The regional government is in the process of acquiring additional licenses, which requires following public procurement procedures. Despite the lack of manuals, the director emphasized that students have access to other educational resources. Discussions about the future of digital manuals will take place in an upcoming educational council meeting.
