The American aircraft began patrolling over the Black Sea at the request of Bulgaria

A U.S. P-8 Poseidon aircraft has begun operations over the Black Sea at Bulgaria's request following drone attacks on commercial vessels. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced the surveillance mission aimed at assessing risks in the area. He acknowledged the swift response from NATO allies and discussed the situation with NATO's Secretary General. The attacks on ships in Bulgaria's exclusive economic zone resulted in two vessels sinking and 21 sailors missing. Radev suspects the attacks serve Russian interests but noted there is no formal evidence linking Moscow to the incidents. He has called for a renewed dialogue with Russia and opposes increased military aid to Ukraine.
