Amnesty denounces torture, executions and fear in Sudan
Amnesty International reported widespread fear and human rights abuses in El Fasher, Sudan, following the Rapid Support Forces' takeover. The organization documented testimonies of torture, illegal executions, and forced labor, with many civilians fleeing the city. The population has drastically decreased from over one million to under 70,000 due to the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis. Amnesty criticized the lack of international diplomatic efforts to protect civilians and called for an immediate ceasefire and the release of arbitrarily detained individuals. The report highlights the ongoing atrocities committed by both the RSF and Sudanese Armed Forces.
