Andrzej Zybała: More expensive per capita increases NFZ costs

Over the past decade, the National Health Fund has significantly increased spending on long-term care, but patient numbers have only risen modestly. The Fund's expenditures on stationary care surged by 197.1%, while the patient count grew by 22.2%. Despite higher payments to providers, the number of care days increased only slightly. The funding system, determined by the government agency AOTMiT, has led to higher costs without improving access to care, as many regions still lack providers. The current nursing care system is outdated, and the Fund should demand higher quality care in exchange for increased funding.
