The central bank's foundation has become so impoverished that it has halted support for a school due to a lack of funds - Mihály Varga intervened

The Hungarian central bank's foundation, originally aimed at supporting education, has halted funding for a school due to financial shortages. Despite claims of substantial assets, the foundation's funds have dwindled, leading to the termination of a three-year support agreement with the Ökumenikus Segélyszervezet. The foundation had previously allocated significant resources to foreign investments and businesses linked to the family of former central bank governor György Matolcsy. Following a leadership change, the new board cited funding issues as the reason for rejecting further support requests from the school, despite earlier commitments. The Ökumenikus Segélyszervezet has since sought direct funding from the central bank for the school's operations, which was eventually approved, ensuring continued financial support for the institution.
