Antwerp city councilor Tim Tubbax leaves accident site: "Even as a passenger, it's best to stay on site"

Antwerp city council member Tim Tubbax left the scene of an accident where he was a passenger. The incident involved a woman driving under the influence, hitting bicycles and a terrace. Tubbax stated he left to avoid causing a scene but remained nearby for identification. The café owner criticized his decision to leave, emphasizing the importance of staying at the accident site. According to police judge Siegfried Stallaert, passengers can also be implicated in hit-and-run cases. Tubbax clarified he was not at fault and expressed relief that no injuries occurred. Concerns were raised about traffic safety in the area, as this was the third incident affecting the café's terrace in a month.
