The lost drawings of young Gaudí have appeared

Recent discoveries reveal previously unknown drawings by Antoni Gaudí, showcasing his early artistic talent. Josep Maria Tarragona presented ten unpublished works, including self-portraits from 1876, at the Gaudí International Congress. These drawings belonged to Gaudí's classmate, Emili Cabanyes, and were passed down through generations. The authenticity of the drawings is confirmed through historical tracing and comparisons with Gaudí's surviving notes. The findings highlight Gaudí's ability to express architectural ideas through simple sketches and mark a generational shift in Gaudí research, encouraging fresh perspectives.
