Monkeys found that were stolen from French zoo
Eleven of the thirteen stolen monkeys from a French zoo have been recovered, with several arrests made. The theft involved endangered species, including squirrel monkeys and pinched monkeys. The animals were taken from the zoo in Lescar, France, during the night. Initially, fourteen monkeys were reported stolen, but one was found shortly after the incident. The zoo director highlighted the high black market value of these animals. The theft was discovered when the zoo opened, revealing that the security window had been tampered with. The recovered monkeys had previously been rescued from illegal trade.
