After the fire, Matuta already has a reopening date

On October 30, Matuta will reopen after months of fundraising and reconstruction following a fire in May. Eduarda Meireles, known as Matuta, emphasized the community's support in rebuilding the space, which raised €13,400 through donations. The funds were used for extensive repairs, including electrical work and painting, while friends and customers assisted with cleaning and organizing. The reopening will feature a special menu celebrating Brazilian cuisine, aiming to bring together those who contributed to the recovery. Matuta, established last year, has become a community hub for Brazilians in Lisbon, known for its traditional dishes and warm atmosphere.
