App that warns Ukrainians sends 'hacked' fake message about nuclear attack
A Ukrainian app designed to alert citizens about impending Russian airstrikes was hacked, sending false warnings of chemical and nuclear attacks. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the breach, stating that the app disseminated misleading messages, including one about a nuclear alarm and an incoming hypersonic missile. False air raid alerts were also triggered in some regions. Authorities urged the public to remain calm and follow official instructions, emphasizing there was no radiation threat. The warning system was restored shortly after midnight.
