Approved the protection of water capture in Paredes de Coura

The Ministry of Environment has approved the protection perimeter for a groundwater intake in Rubiães-Antas, Paredes de Coura, aimed at human consumption. This decision, effective from Tuesday, concerns the "Furo Antas" intake, which serves 257 residents with an average daily volume of 63.99 cubic meters. The protection perimeters are designed to prevent and control groundwater pollution, enhancing natural processes for water purification and providing alert systems for accidental pollution. The Portuguese Environment Agency is responsible for assessing risks related to water intake points, ensuring compliance with existing water legislation.
