Atom with an application for construction approval. When will the work begin?

The application for preliminary construction works has been submitted to the Pomeranian Voivode, allowing for site preparation for a nuclear power plant. Initial construction could begin next year, pending approval. The project includes infrastructure development, such as cooling channels and a retention reservoir for rainwater. The construction of the nuclear island requires separate approval from the National Atomic Energy Agency, expected by 2028. The first concrete for the plant is anticipated in late 2028, with the first reactor operational by 2036. The project aims to facilitate Polish contractors' involvement in the construction process.
