Nuclear power plant problems: the stakes are still high in Paks

The Paks nuclear power plant has faced multiple delays in generator repairs, with the latest expected return to service on October 27. A sudden shutdown of a turbine generator on October 21 led to a significant drop in output, impacting Hungary's electricity generation. Despite these issues, renewable energy sources contributed over a third of the electricity mix on that day. However, Paks' output fell short by more than 3 GWh compared to previous days, resulting in a potential loss of 210,000 to 330,000 euros. The system operator managed to compensate for some of the lost production by utilizing additional solar power.
