Racist attack in Trappes: 30 victims have been identified, according to the national anti-terrorism prosecutor

Olivier Christen, the national anti-terrorism prosecutor, discussed a recent racially motivated attack in Yvelines that resulted in one death and several injuries. He noted that there were 30 victims in total, including those psychologically affected. The suspect, Kevin T., had allegedly planned the attack since late summer and had a history of firearms training. Despite finding extremist materials at his home, Christen stated that the suspect did not identify with any political party. He highlighted a rise in cases related to far-right extremism, although he reassured that there is no specific targeting of the upcoming presidential elections. The prosecutor expressed ongoing concern about the potential for violence in the current political climate.
