In Japan, Uniqlo socks symbolize concerns over rising prices

The first snow has fallen on Mount Fuji, signaling winter's arrival in Japan. Uniqlo has decided to cancel a planned price increase for its socks, a move welcomed by consumers amid rising costs. Fast Retailing, Uniqlo's parent company, stated that socks are essential items, prompting the price revision. This decision comes as Japan's inflation target of 2% has been officially reached, acknowledged by Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda. Uniqlo had previously announced a price hike for its autumn-winter products, including socks, but has now opted to maintain lower prices despite rising material and logistics costs.
