Audi announces first car factory in the US during Trump election campaign

Audi is investing $4 billion in a new factory in Georgia, creating 4,500 jobs and producing 200,000 SUVs annually. Construction starts next year, with the first cars expected by the early 2030s. The announcement was made by Trump during a rally, highlighting the factory's role in supporting the U.S. economy amid tariffs affecting Audi's imports. CEO Gernot Döllner views this investment as a boost for Volkswagen's global position, despite recent job cuts in Germany. The factory will produce models Q7, Q8, and Q9, taking over some production from Slovakia.
