Australian woman who poisoned family members with mushrooms loses appeal and can never be released again
Erin Patterson, convicted of murdering three family members with poisonous mushrooms, lost her appeal and received a harsher sentence, now with no chance of parole. Patterson was found guilty of serving deadly green death cap mushrooms during a dinner, resulting in the deaths of her in-laws and sister-in-law. Although her husband survived, he suffered severe health issues. Patterson claimed the poisoning was accidental, but the court ruled her actions were calculated and cold. The appeal court dismissed her arguments regarding the trial's fairness and agreed that her original sentence was too lenient. Patterson now has 28 days to decide on further legal action.
