Car-free cycling route between Herentals and Turnhout will be further completed: "More comfortable and safer cycling"

The province plans to enhance a low-traffic cycling route between Herentals and Turnhout, making it 18 kilometers long with improved safety features. New paved sections will be added in Herentals and Kasterlee, along with a new bridge in Kasterlee and two crossings with traffic islands in Lille. The project aims to create a more comfortable and safer cycling experience, addressing existing bottlenecks and ensuring year-round usability. Future developments include a new bike connection from Kraanschot to Veedijk, although plans for a cycling highway face challenges due to land use issues.
