Road transport, protests continue: the Government puts an additional 105 million on the table

The Italian government has introduced an amendment to the auto tax decree, allocating over 105 million euros for transport companies and postponing the tax on mini packages from outside the EU. The amendment extends tax credits for fuel costs until August 2026 and introduces a new credit for expenses incurred from September to October. Protests from transporters continue, with blockades in several regions. The amendment also delays the implementation of a 2-euro contribution on shipments under 150 euros until January 2027. Meanwhile, EU fees have already started, increasing the state's revenue loss. The auto tax exemption for individuals is set for 2027, with proposals to expand eligibility for families with multiple children.
