Lavrov criticizes Poland's participation in the G20. "It brings nothing"

During the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta, Sergey Lavrov expressed dissatisfaction with Poland's presence, calling it unproductive and a breach of diplomatic norms. He criticized Poland's economy as insufficient for G20 participation, stating it contributes nothing to the discussions. Lavrov noted that the U.S. invited Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, emphasizing that Russia faced no pressure regarding this invitation. The U.S. currently leads the G20, allowing Poland to participate as a full member by special invitation. Discussions also included Poland's future involvement, with the UK inviting Warsaw to next year's meetings, while Sikorski acknowledged a lack of enthusiasm from Russia regarding this matter.
