Airbnb hosts can no longer require guests to clean up

Airbnb has updated its policies to limit what hosts can request from guests, particularly regarding cleaning tasks. Hosts can now set seven general rules and additional reasonable requests, but cannot ask guests to perform typical cleaning duties like washing dishes or changing linens. These new rules apply to bookings made after November 20. The updated policies aim to clarify expectations for guests and reduce confusion. Exceptions may apply in specific situations, such as water usage restrictions during droughts. Guests have long complained about unreasonable tasks, especially when cleaning fees are charged. Trends on TikTok parody strict host rules.
