Matolcsy must be brought from pre-trial detention to the session of the investigative committee dealing with the MNB scandal
The parliamentary investigative committee plans to hear György Matolcsy despite his recent arrest. Legal expert Erik Petrik confirmed that even those in pre-trial detention must appear before the committee. Matolcsy's hearing is scheduled for November 5, and the committee insists on his attendance to address numerous questions. Although he can refuse to answer questions that could incriminate him, he must provide truthful testimony. The committee, which began its work in August, aims to investigate the financial scandal surrounding the central bank's foundations. The upcoming session is expected to mark the start of substantive work on the case.
