Erasmus+ has returned to every Hungarian university, contracts have been signed

The Erasmus+ program has returned to all Hungarian universities after legal obstacles were resolved, allowing for the signing of funding agreements. Roxana Mînzatu, Vice-President of the European Commission, expressed happiness about the inclusion of Hungarian students in the program. The previous government faced criticism for not addressing transparency issues related to the foundations managing universities, which led to the suspension of Erasmus contracts. The new government has taken steps to meet EU requirements, resulting in the lifting of restrictions and the resumption of contracts. Student mobility is expected to restart in the 2026/2027 academic year, with some forms of mobility potentially starting earlier.
