Three-quarters of European pilots have already fallen asleep unintentionally while flying the aircraft
A survey by the European Cockpit Association revealed alarming trends among pilots regarding fatigue. 24% admitted to flying while feeling unfit due to tiredness, and 75% experienced micro-sleeps during flights in the past month. Over a third of pilots reported insufficient rest, and nearly half feared negative repercussions for reporting fatigue. Only 11.9% trust their airline's fatigue reporting system. Factors contributing to fatigue include long hours, inadequate rest, irregular schedules, and crossing time zones, all posing significant safety risks.
