BYD closed the strongest month of this year, and the Hungarian factory is also starting.

In October, BYD achieved its strongest month of the year with 490,168 vehicles sold globally, marking an 11% increase from last year. However, the total sales from January to October show a 2.2% decline compared to the same period last year, with 3.62 million vehicles sold. Electric vehicle sales are rising, surpassing 300,000 units in October, while plug-in hybrid sales have decreased. The company saw significant growth in exports, with 170,200 vehicles shipped abroad in October, a 102.8% increase year-on-year. BYD plans to start production in Hungary by late 2026, a delay from the original 2025 timeline, with the first model expected to be the Dolphin Surf. The company is also considering additional factories in Europe, with France and Spain as potential locations.
